Recently, at the rear yard of Penglai Port Area in Yantai Port, Shandong Port, with the start and operation of a tire type dry bulk cargo stacker, coal was continuously raised and stacked by the stacker, marking the official production of the first stacker with iron removal function in Shandong Port. This equipment is a deepening integration between Yantai Port and Bohai Bay Port in Shandong Province. It is jointly researched, designed, and transformed around the requirements of coal and other bulk cargo stacking and shore loading of ships below 20000 tons. It further enriches the functions and application scenarios of the stacker and promotes the improvement and efficiency of port bulk cargo loading and unloading business.

The stacker crane can directly lift up to 12 meters, with a designed flow rate of 1000 tons/hour and a left and right rotation angle of ± 55 °. It is driven by a diesel generator and a dual power supply from the mains, and can travel in straight, lateral, oblique, and stationary directions. It is equipped with auxiliary systems such as remote control system, sprinkler system, and iron removal system. The commissioning and use of this stacker crane effectively alleviates the insufficient loading capacity of the gantry crane at the front of Penglai Port Company's terminal and the pressure of lifting bulk cargo at the back, significantly reducing production operating costs.
During the assembly of the stacker crane at the port, in order to ensure maximum assembly speed, Jiangsu Zhongkuang and Penglai Port companies strengthened their linkage with Bohai Bay Port, established a daily report and weekly meeting mechanism, and arranged for dedicated personnel to monitor the site, track, schedule, and serve the installation work of the stacker crane at all times, and solve problems in the installation and commissioning process at any time. The stacker crane was successfully put into use in the 70000 ton coal operation of the "Xintai Yuan" ship, saving production costs of about RMB40000 yuan.
This equipment is a closer cooperation between Weifang Port and Shandong Port, following the commissioning of three stackers. Based on the different situations of different ports, personalized customization of stackers is implemented to maximize their production capacity, better match the existing bulk cargo operation requirements of the port, and effectively improve the quality and efficiency of bulk cargo production operations at the terminal.
